Artist Statement

Plasticity of the mind

The mind is plastic. Ever changing, growing, and discovering. The hand is driven by the mind, and the mind is driven by the hand. The act of drawing exists between mind and physical reality. It is an act of preservation, a mark once left is itself a memory, and history is made.

Reality is plastic. Ever changing, growing, and discovering. The mind is driven by reality, and reality is driven by mind. Life exists in a space between reality and mind. It is an act of presence, a moment in eternity when reality reflects upon itself.

Art is plastic. Ever changing, growing, and being discovered. Art is driven by the reality of mind, and the reality of the mind is driven by art. The creation of art exists between the mind and physical reality. It is an act of preservation, the mind manifested, memory and artifact, an object made.
